GEN Turkey’s launch on December 18 was held by a serie of webinar; and many names like GEN Turkey Board Member Ali Sabancı, Emine Erdem, Orhan Turan and many leading names of entrepreneurship ecosystem in Turkey like Endeavor Turkey Chairman Emre Kurttepeli provided contribution with their opinions and evaluations in the webinar.
GEN Turkey aims at being a bridge between Turkey and global entrepreneurship ecosystems to have Turkey’s entrepreneurship ecosystem strengthened and improved. GEN Turkey as a platform, aiming at developing programs oriented on Turkey’s priorities, plans to bring GEN’s programs operating in 178 countries and Turkish entrepreneurs together. GEN Turkey, announcing to give the entrepreneurs opprtunities of mentoring support and meeting with angel investors, from 2021 on, will start to initiative acceleration programs, network activities, hackathons and trainings.
GEN Turkey, with the platform that it formed by gathering experts from different sectors, will be the address for any kind of support that entrepreneurs may need from the very first step. It will also increase Turkish entrepreneurs’ power of competing with the world by creating opportunities for them to reach and interact with the global initiative ecosystem. GEN Turkey, at the same time, will provide the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Turkey with an empowerment by gathering the entrepreneurs and the experts working in the field of entrepreneurship under the same roof.
GEN Turkey’s digital launch started with the opening speeches of GEN Board Chairman Jeff Hoffman and GEN Turkey Board Chairman Nevzat Aydın. GEN Turkey Executive Board Member and Earlybird VC Founding Member Cem Sertoğlu made the keynote speech. In the webinar serie, consisting of 4 sessions, Turkey’s entrepreneurship ecosystem was taken and evaluated from different perspectives. In the webinars, that GEN Turkey’s managing and executive board members as speakers shared their accumulation, the topics on the opportunities in entrepreneurship ecosystem after the pandemic, the methods of improving the entrepreneurship ecosystem, the contribution and role of civil society in entrepreneurship mechanisms were taken. The topic of the last session of the day was ‘Which Opportunities for Entrepreneurs from Investor’s Point of View Are Available in Digital Transformation Period?’.
